Following the system theme is good, but so many times, apps start in light mode by default before loading these settings. This results in an awful white flash before the app is able to query the system what theme it should use. The shell for apps for before they load should definitely be dark imo

My coworker had this issue recently, and he had to screw around with different cables, docks, and profile settings on the monitor itself for half an hour before the better refresh rates showed up

"dead" will have a different definition on lemmy as compared to reddit, because the user base is smaller here. It'll grow with time, but we who are already here can start posting and commenting to give the process a quicker start.
