It looks as much like a hummingbird as a cloud can look like an elephant. The viewer has already been prompted to see a hummingbird, and humans are very good at finding a pattern in something random. I can easily believe it to be real, but I'm not sold on the idea that it particularly resembles anything significant.

It's just a show. You should really just relax.

Theoretically, yes, but I suspect the manufacturing quality of SD cards is a lot lower than SSDs

And from memory, the number of enemies scales with the number of players. It's gets pretty hectic pretty fast.

There's heaps of mods for classic games to turn them into co-op, including Doom (3), half life, quake, aliens vs predator, etc.

Lol

"The best way to run arch is to have a second non-arch computer at all times"

I think that sums it up

It's probably some kids workshop assignment that he brought home to his parents.

Unless you are suggesting that actual election fraud took place, these guys got democratically elected.

From the outside it seems like this is what the majority of your voting public wanted, and the majority of your adult population were fine with it and chose not to vote. If it were the first time I would consider it as revealing a major flaw in your political system, but this is the second time, non consecutively, that this has happened. That just looks like this is representative of your people. Sorry.

I never liked the analogy of a social contract. A contract is something that people agree on. Most of society is just people going through life fairly passively, and inheriting the values of those around them.

A lot of hate comes from ignorance, whether taught or absorbed from someone's surroundings. Not because they are opting out of some kind of previously agreed upon contract. I think that's an important thing to recognise.

The paradox of tolerance is a hypothetical idea of complete tolerance, which I'm not sure ever exists in humans in the real world.

"why?"

"Just because!"

Increasing difficulty

I will provide a clue to get you going.
If you can manage, submit your answers with the spoiler tag.
Details available here: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/users/02-media.html

I will grade the winner after at least a few days.

Clue:
Actor Mike Dopud has appeared in all three major Stargate shows. You should be able to guess which one this is. When did this character collaborate with our heroes to resolve a conflict?

Winner: No one!
Stargate Universe S02E13 Alliances
I think I've left it long enough. This was when there was a Lucien Alliance attack on the Pentagon. Camille and Greer were body swapped with two personnel at the location and Varro, a Lucien defector, prepares to give instructions for disarming a Lucian Alliance bomb. They only have a few seconds to get the message across because the only way to communicate is during an Ancient stones glitch caused by cycling the FTL drive.

Current Tally:
https://lemmy.world/u/slazer2au = 2
https://lemmy.world/u/Ermiar = 1
https://lemmy.world/u/[email protected] = 1
https://lemmy.world/u/[email protected] = 1
No Winner = 1

Clue: Zelenka isn't happy about the braids and facepaint. Who might have done this to him, and why is Rodney so happy about it?

Winner: https://lemmy.world/u/slazer2au
SGA S02RE13 Critical Mass
Rodney, head of science, has assigned Zelenka to investigate the defence system on the planet from Childhood's End (SGA S01E06). McKay has an aversion to children and takes pleasure in subjecting Zelenka to the affection of the denizens of M7G-677.

Okay, Lets ramp it up. You guys are pretty dialled into Stargate, so lets make it more obscure.

Clue:
If you don't remember this moment, look at the background location. This filming location was only used for one faction, and has been used in many Canadian sci-fi TV shows.

Winner:
https://lemmy.world/u/[email protected]
SG-1 S05E09 Between Two Fires
Filmed at SFU, a location used in other popular sci-fi including Battlestar Galactica. This is just up a walking path from the wooden sculptures seen in the episode Upgrades, which is right next to the restaurant in the same episode where they order 4 steaks each.

Time to get a little more difficult. If you're not sure feel free to ask for clues.

Winner: https://lemmy.world/u/[email protected]

The original is 4:3 ratio for the CRTs you see in the SGC, but I made a 16:9 version for my lock screen. enjoy.

There was an online version that went live in 2007. I never knew about it at the time, and it's since shutdown.

This one is perhaps a little harder than the first. Still, what we see in this picture is not a common sight in the show, and air crash investigation with some kind of otherworldy craft.
