It's not just Republicans, but Republicans are notorious for their universal double standards that only one without shame can have.
To varying degrees, every single person has things in their life that they like, and no amount of accurate, undeniable, objective, information about it being bad/wrong/inefficient etc will change their mind unless they decide they want to.
There's plenty of disqualifying traits for Republicans, which is a large part of why they now have a God king who wears diapers and has more fingers than functional brain cells.

I don't think they're necessarily saying it was spontaneous bird flu, it's much easier to determine the animal(s) that gave a farm worker avian flu than testing every animal/person who interacted with someone.

That being said, mainstream news and world events are definitely present on Lemmy, it's not just a meme pile.
Reddit/lemmy is the only social media I use, so maybe the meme situation isn't even that great but it suits my needs!
The tradeoff for Lemmy getting that community content reddit used to have (can still find it between the bots) is that it will attract attention from everywhere which results in enshittification
