I'm not sure that's true. Deregulation will certainly boost corporate profits, but it will also ramp up inflation and depress wages as corporations maximize those profits. This is one of those, the economy is flourishing because the markets are rocketing up while the poors are losing their homes.
Boddhisatva
Maybe not. The Republicans haven't secured the house yet. Several races remain undetermined and the Dems could take it.
Now. if I were writing this season, I would let the Dems win. Then have Trump and Vance both pass away (Trump: heart, Vance: An accident involving a reclining couch) and with a Dem house we'd end up with President Hakeem Jeffries who could then appoint Kamala Harris as VP again. Every cranium in the nation with a MAGA cap perched on it would simultaneously explode.
I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that people who cannot be bothered to vote shouldn't really count.
What makes you think Vance wouldn't be worse? He's knee deep in Project 2025 and seems more than willing to see that through to the end.
Correct. Slightly more than one third of the population are still celebrating and slightly less than one third are already regretting it. Those are the two thirds who actually voted. The final third haven't actually noticed we had an election yet because they never bother to participate. If any of them pull their heads out of their asses at some point, they will likely regret it too, but I wouldn't put money on it.
Prices on everything will skyrocket if he follows through with this.
Oh. My. God. Will you be my friend?!
Not how it works. Gestures, like words, have a meaning. Even in the USA, saying certain words in certain ways can get you arrested; harassment, threats, etc. This gesture is meant to convey threat and to harass religious and racial minorities. There is no other reason to make the gesture.
I am not saying that they are losing on purpose. I'm saying that they are making decisions about policies and candidates based on fund raising rather than on attracting voters. On purpose or not, they did shoot themselves in the foot by courting disaffected Republican voters. Everyone knew they were not going to win a lot of those voters, but they sure did rake in a lot of dough. I believe that is their primary motivation.
It is absolutely clear now. The DNC is a private company whose main function is to fund raise, period. If they also win an election then that's great, but if it comes to a choice between winning and raising money, they will choose raising money. They will never move to the left to win voters if it will cost them fund raising opportunities from the center and right.
They're running out of forest, aren't they?
