That would involve boosting government programs, which they've built a whole ideological and propaganda edifice against because that's money that could go to corporations. Anyone who does something like this leaves himself open to attacks from the right. There really isn't a lot that Republicans could run on anymore, they're pretty much locked into their strategy of populism in service of wealthy interests.

I pretty much agree, maybe if they'd managed to somehow capture the weird feel of Mario RPG's prerendered sprites in real time it would have impressed me more? Not sure, but it definitely looked more generic than the original game in terms of graphical style. Plus I'm just not that excited to play it again for some reason, even though I loved the original.
However, Super Mario Wonder looked so creative, the surrealism drew me in and it seems like the perfect direction to take 2D Mario in. It's the one game in that Direct that I saw and was like "I need to play this".
5600X + 3060 Ti w/32GB of RAM, I mostly play AAA games at lower resolutions so the results are pretty good for a midrange build. I built it last year while the shortages were still going on, so I definitely had to pay more than $200 for the parts. :)
One of the founders of Reddit mentioned in an interview a while back that it was all bots when it started, to give the illusion of being populated when it was too new to have any users except the people who worked on it. From bots it came, and to bots it will return. The circle of life.
