I'm in the opposite direction but same problem. Wanted a ZX6R settled for a GSXR 750. Not a bad compromise.
Bakachu
I'm having a similar peaceful Sunday morning.
I have young nieces and nephews that I visit every now and then. There is no morning decompression allowed when I visit. Not even a minute on my phone to check the day's events. As soon as I'm awake they're on me like crows. They've been told not to wake visitors, so instead they hover over me and wait and watch my eyelids while I feign sleep. It's a literal battle of wills that can go on for over an hour until one of us caves in.
I can't wait to give them shit for it when they get older.
I think there's a certain power dynamic that comes with looking and acting older. If you look the same age or younger than your kids, that power dynamic is most likely going to slowly shift. It'd be like if you're in your 40s working for a guy who looks like he's in his 20s. While possible, I imagine it'd be a challenging arrangement. Not to mention how your kids would feel about your decision as a parent to take an age reversal pill.
On my sofa. Alone. My cats watching me.
That's a good point. You kinda lose your kids once you take the pill. On the flip side though, who's putting who in the nursing home now?
Childhood indoctrination is a big part of it. I have been told by my 8-year old niece that she'd like to save me from drowning in a lake of fire. She was genuinely scared for me. It's literal child abuse followed by Stockholm syndrome.
I also hate the use of this lazy plot device. Up to my later teenage years I did hold this misconception and I'd say a lot of children nowadays probably do as well.
I think the problem for me now as an adult is that the misconception is subconscious. Tv/film typically treats all wounds as black and white - you either die from them or its a full recovery at some point. They don't address the many different awful and lingering residual effects that can happen. I'm so conditioned by this Hollywood effect that when I hear news of an event involving an accident or act of violence my mind downplays anything where no one dies. Six people get into an accident on the highway resulting in serious injury? Oh well no one died, so they're "fine."
Those nearly back to back 737 Max crashes (2018 &:2019) along with this new incident have created nearly unrecoverable product and brand reputation damage. Boeing is extremely lucky there was no severe injury or death that occurred on that one but I don't know how recovery is going to go for this product line. Maybe rebranding?
Either way I'm watching closely to see what Air India does for their 190 Max orders. They've already had issues with Boeing's training simulators and now this.
Lol I've done this. Can vouch that it does work out well sometimes.
This is on the extreme end but you could hem the shirt. It'd sacrifice usage for lower waisted items but if your wardrobe is more on the mid- to high-waisted end anyway, you might get more utility out of that shirt.
Sounds like a good strategy. Less is more.
Feels like heaven. Upgraded from a Ninja 650 to a GSXR 750 last year. Over double the hp. Can stay in 2nd gear on the FREEWAY.
