Not a fan of this specific one but the general idea of this kind of top, where can I find similar tops? I recall they were also popular around 2020, at least in Europe. If you watch love is blind habibi, Safa in episode 2 seems to have some sort of statement top as well, but don't think it's sheer. Would be nice to find it but I can't take a screenshot on netflix.

Thanks!

The above dress is from a UK store called Apricot. Similar stores might be Oasis.

Would this type of dress in navy blue be too much to attend an Andrea Bocelli concert?

I cycle daily and was thinking to update my summer wardrobe with some basic cotton-based (just not too sporty looking) bicycle shorts which I can style with blouses/shirts/longer t-shirts. Looking to wear them for work too so don't want to get some bad quality/see -through ones. Thanks!

I haven’t worn jeans since the skinny jeans days, looking for updated advice! Trying to style a cute bomber jacket.

Recently found Bronx and Banco and it looks very similar to Self-Portrait. Is the quality different?

I'm obsessed with tailored high waisted shorts (example: https://endlessrose.com/products/copy-of-tailored-shorts) and dolfin shorts for every day and after swimming

I saw this type of dress some time ago and unfortunately ended up not checking it out. It's got a really simple mostly straight cut and it tends to look very good on a slim figure.

title says it all. I have a leather midi skirt which i would like to wear with a blouse but tucking in the shirt makes the skirt look bulky.

What style of blouse would you recommend for a recent widow? Nothing too bright in colour and preferably high neck. Looking for some everyday tops and sweaters recommendations.

edit: it's not me but a relative that lost their spouse but thank you for the nice messages

Have you Guys any advice when you are Tall and Skinny ?

I'm trying to find crew neck sweaters with this v-style pattern on the neckline.

Any suggestions on what terms I can search for would be helpful, thank you!

i have a skirt that has an elastic waist, i don't think it's high waisted and the waistband sticks out a little bit since it's elastic. Would it be possible to alter this skirt to a regular waist band (such as the type that would have a zipper) and make it high waisted?

Who is your style icon? (self.femalefashionadvice)

I love the style of Amal Clooney and Kate Middleton.

I know very little about fashion and I'm not even a huge fan of shopping, but I'm going insane looking at the same clothes every day in my closet. I would really like to revamp my style. I think I tend to enjoy more classy feminine styles that are still a little sexy. Seems to fit in more with European styles, but I can't find many shops that have that in the US. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I like watching bestdressed and I think I like her style, but sometimes she says something is "vintage". Similarly, Nicole Rafiee sometimes mentions vintage home decor items (not fashion, but still). And I can't identify what is so vintage about these things.

What do you consider to be "vintage" women's clothing? If you're going to say "It depends", then what does it depend on?

Inspired by a post from r/malefashionadvice.

Post a photo or description of what you wore to work this week (or what you would have worn if you didn't work from home).

For me, it would be a blouse, a pencil skirt, and heels.

I work in

spoilerwhite collar/corporate

When I was younger, I had the popular phases: the preppy phase, the 2000s phase, the alternative phase.

Now, most of my time is spent working. My wardrobe has evolved to be:

  • 85% work wear - sheath dresses and tops from Calvin Klein, Reiss, or Hobbs. I'm always on the lookout for a nicely cut, structured wool or trench coat or statement heels.
  • 10% going out wear - jumpsuits, statement trousers, tailored high waisted shorts, statement tops, basic white t shirt, basic black t shirt.
  • 5% work out wear

I've gotten rid of a lot of pieces I thought I'd use. For example, I don't have very casual dresses because I don't have use for them. I used to buy a lot of wedges for days out but I now wear either heels for work, white sneakers for everyday, or running shoes for working out.

For myself, I am obsessed with cape dresses over the past few months. Unfortunately, i have no idea where I would often wear a cape dress and it would date itself quickly.

Day to day, I love the look of blazers with shorts and button down tops, but I don't feel like either suit me because I look much wider/bigger than I actually am. I prefer and feel more comfortable in outfits where my waist is emphasized and which are more form fitting.

Inspired by the reddit post of the same name.

For me it was low rise boot cut jeans, tight v neck tops, belly/tube tops, bandanas and chokers, shirts with other shirts layered underneath, butterfly clips, camo, candy necklaces, lots of abercrombie around, and tons of glitter everywhere.

I'll go first.

  • I spend a lot of time in Asia. In recent years, as with other parts of the world. It's getting hotter and humid. I visited an East Asian country recently and temperatures were about 50°C (122°F for the Americans) with the humidex. Culturally, it's more conservative there and older people say women shouldn't show cleavage, collar bones, wear spaghetti strap tops, etc. At this point, it's so hot outside I will take the option of not getting heat stroke and risk offending some local. Something like a loose linen top might have worked as a compromise but I don't own any.
  • the quality of pieces have gone down. It's insanely expensive just to get a classic cut blazer or a dress that isn't boxy. I don't recall it being this expensive 20 or 30 years ago to have some pieces that aren't loose shapeless pieces of fabric.

I really enjoy youtube channels such as Vittoria's channel. This video called " Milan street style moments: effortlessly chic and comfortable looks•italian fashion" is something I particularly enjoy; i'm always looking for ways to spice up my street style and this video features men and women of different ages and their great style. I particularly like this video because everyone has walkable shoes on; I often struggle with reconciling outfits with walkability.

  • at 0:59 there's a woman with a statement blouse, black midi skirts and bright green bag.
  • 1:34 there's an older woman with a lovely midi skirt, sandals, and tied top.
  • 2:19 there's an older woman with statement pants and blouse. the woman next to her has white pants, a contrasting fabric black top, and statement shoes
  • 2:33 and 3:15 are 2 women with beautiful midi skirts.
  • 5:18 an older woman with a beautiful dress and flipflops

Something that's frustrating is I can never replicate their style; i can never find the stores where their pieces are carried.----

It took me a while to start accessorizing to add interest to my outfits (earrings, statements heels, handbag). I'm currently loving doing pattern clashing or pattern matching. I often wear pencil/midi skirts for work so this fits well.

pattern clashing

pattern matching - fruits

this summer, hot pink and tailored trousers were in fashion which was fantastic. i picked up a pair of hot pink tailored trousers from zara (similar). Lots of compliments received on them.
