It’s always interesting to me which changes are made from the originals in these…

Holy shit. O_o I think I’ve known rodeo vets with better bedside manner than that guy. Is there some sort of regulatory process for reporting this? I mean, this is someone you’re meant to trust in a very intimidating situation- they shouldn’t be flapping their yap like this. That’s just god awful.

Hello there, my delightful void!

So, Ghost en Espanol posted this question on IG and I know a bunch of people assumed [God Was Never On Your Side] (https://youtu.be/o1hSSuc42P8) and the funny thing is, I’ve had [Love Me Like a Reptile] (https://youtu.be/mx6zew2a-mc) stuck in my head off and on for a couple weeks, now and though that one actually is from 1980- God Was Never On Your Side is from 2006- but even I thought about it at first because let’s face it, it’s a pretty brilliant song.

I am torn between LMLAR and Live To Win, at this point and I’m probably incorrect either way. 😂

(Now let’s just see if I’ve formatted properly…)

The article is in German but there’s a bunch of great photos.

  • From his early days of deconstructing and rebuilding classic songs to his ongoing obsession with learning and absorbing new techniques, as they prepare to drop new covers EP ‘Phantomime’, Ghost‘s leader Tobias Forge sees each new track as a fresh puzzle to be solved.*

So far, yes! Much of this takes me waaaaaay back to the early screechy interweb days. Maybe the nostalgia has me in its grip, I dunno. :D

Can I just say that being directly after wake n bake this morning: this post is...I am so confused. lol *How did I get here? *

[–] AstarteOfCaelius 2 points 1 year ago

I think I fried my brain slightly reading some of the how to communities, so far- but I am digging it. :D

I am very excited to see what kinds of moderator tools pop up, for sure. I love this a bit more than I thought I would even though yes, getting started does feel pretty wobbly. lol

When you are on the Github, are you going to the ReadMe file to activate that way? I sort of wish I had screenrecorded as I did it, because I didn't have any issues- but, I gather that's the part that is catching a few people off.

This is a tremendously helpful post, also: https://lemmy.world/post/37906

How are you guy’s finding the moderation differences?

[–] AstarteOfCaelius 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

This was exactly why I decided to jump in and learn. I know why I dislike most platforms and I can see the potential for something much better, here.

Planet Rock has an absolutely enormous set of photo albums from the download festival and I thought that it might make for a good first on-topic post. You can find them here.

Enjoy.

I’m really kind of enjoying it, so far.

It’s great to see you, how are you doing? You find your way here, all right? Want something to drink? Cookies?

First and foremost, this is an unofficial Ghost community: I don’t have anything to do with the band, I am but a humble archivist. I am also not one that you are familiar with as I’ve kept a fairly low profile and genuinely, prefer that. However, given the current state of things and the fact that they might just be circling the drain over there: I thought I’d provide something of an alternative.

So, where are you now?

This is Lemmy and it is part of the fediverse. That is a collection of decentralized and open social network platforms: you might have heard of Mastadon. Not the band, though we like them, too. Mastodon is like Twitter, if Twitter wasn’t an awful place largely fueled by rabid gerbils.

Though Lemmy does have some similarities to other platforms- it is decentralized. This means that you’ve got a little bit more freedom to do things in ways you enjoy. Lemmy’s servers are called instances- can be hosted by anyone, so this means that no one entity or person is in control of anything. (Ooo that makes the little control freak in me get a bit antsy- but excited.) There are quite a few instances that you can choose from: this community is on Lemmy.world, but there is also lemmy.one, beehaw.org, and lemmy.ca. Most of these instances are linked together, so that the communities are under a somewhat collective umbrella. You can create an account on any instance you choose: you will still be able to read and interact with those on other instances.

Now, if you’re gonna want to do this on a mobile device: I recommend signing up on Lemmy, first as it's a little easier that way for me but you can do what you want.

For Android, you’ll be looking at Jerboa, the official Lemmy Android app. You can find that via The Play Store or over on F-Droid

For iOS, you’re going to need TestFlight and once you have that, pop over to Github where you will find the beta. Once you get there, go to ReadMe and you should be able to get everything set up and activated, easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

You can see a lot more information on how things work in a nutshell on Lemmy’s Getting Started post.

Anyhoozles! I hope to see lots of your tour photos, stories and just maybe, we can do a little lore exploring. ;)
