It's refreshing to see evil motherfuckers being evil openly instead of trying to hide it with doublespeak or outright denying it. I love Coffee Stain Studio's games and how they handle monetization, and this announcement makes me worried for both the studio and their projects.

Not the person you're replying to, but I too was confused. I thought it had something to do with some sort of contract known as "2d" in the industry because the d wasn't capitalized, as in 2D.

Kinda late to the conversation, I know, but I agree with you. To me, all it's missing obviously is the story and some polish. I could think of a few QOL stuff I'd like to see added before it officially launches, but to me this feels pretty complete as is. Amazing that it's only in Alpha.

I understand that, and I agree. I just wish there was some recourse for those stuck on previous gen hardware.
This is one of the reasons I don't play on console anymore. I'd rather upgrade individual components than the entire box, and they seem to be coming out faster and faster with "improved" models or segmenting the market way too much.
Not to say that PC component manufacturers aren't guilty of overly segmenting the market either of course. Friggin' NVIDIA.
