The article is weird. I posted an archive link in the thread. I agree that more jobs should do the work to accommodate a person, but I don't think you do that by getting rid of protections neurodivergent people already have.
We didn't have this kind of visibility when I was a kid, we got drugged till we were zombies or treated like lazy pieces of shit with wasted potential. It's nice that people realize the value of us, and treatments are getting so much better. But like, you'll never catch me arguing that being accommodating should replace an IEP at a school.
