Nobody mentioned Popcorn Time? It is a bit torrent client with an integrated media player. It does exactly what you are asking + it has a great “poster wall” interface.

I have private trackers and Usenet and my quality profiles in the *arrs mostly always pick from torrents. I will cancel my Usenet subscription. I also kinda like the grind of private trackers just for the heck of it.

I set up my own once. It worked well but I really missed the UI and the suggestions from the official app. I ended up getting a Premium account from a relative from a South American country where it is dirty cheap. That plus iSponsorBlockTV is such a great experience.

You can use Yatee on the ATV. Or if you have a home server / pi you can also try iSponsorBlockTV

Also tvOS is excluded.
