He's got some weird things about fathering children. That story about him wanting to donate his sperm to Mars settlers was just too bizarre.

I don't believe Swift buys her own groceries, or that anyone on her staff takes a jet to the grocery store. That's just dumb.

I think it's ridiculous that we have a system where someone can make billions singing songs while people providing essential functions have troubles making ends meet, but I haven't heard any credible evidence that Swift exploits her staff.

So if a group of guys came to your neighbors house and told the family that they're going to move into it with them, you wouldn't be for removing them, even if that meant a fight? It would be better to just let them move in because that way no one gets hurt?

And if they successfully move into your neighbor's house, they might have eyes on your house next.

Russia is trying to take over Ukraine, a sovereign country, by force, and other countries are trying to help Ukraine fight Russia. Yes, people on both sides are dying. Ukrainians apparently overwhelmingly believe it's worth the fight.

Not sure I've heard Swift described as "scummy" before.

And if you're so against billionaires and politicians, why are you for the billionaire politician from the party who wants to cut taxes for billionaires, and not the candidate from a working class background who wants to increase taxes for billionaires?

It's really infuriating. Every time he's asked a question, and she gets a rebuttal, he just starts rebutting her rebuttal and they just let him. And half the time what he's says has nothing to do with the question that was asked. They cut Kamala off pretty much every time.

The zero C is freezing and 100 C is boiling, so not really arbitrary.

But it's pretty hard to define a scale that has intuitive, round numbers for everything we might care about.

I've always told my family I like to build up "cart karma." You get karma by bringing a cart in with you from the parking lot, or returning the one you use after. You lose karma by leaving your cart in the parking lot. Even if I'm going in for a single item, I'll take a cart in from the parking lot with me and leave it in the rack by the store.

I don't really care about cart karma, it's just a way of saying that it seems like the nice thing to do.

Yeah, the Internet connection between Russia and everywhere else went down, and the number of right-wing trolls plummeted.

My wife has had chronic pain (CRPS) since 2008. Some thoughts and observations:

  • It's important to step back and think about your role. My situation was different than yours: I was married with kids for twelve years, you've been together for a year and aren't married. It really is okay for you to decide it's more than you can handle. Your gf doesn't need to be with someone who becomes bitter about a part of her that she can't control.
  • If you decide the pros of being with her outweigh the cons of what being with her requires, you should fully embrace that that's your decision. It's fine if you have down days over it or whatever, but on the whole it just becomes part of your life and it's your decision.
  • The two of you should talk about how to get each of you what you need. My wife could sometimes do things, but often just couldn't, and it was cancerous trying to have a conversation every day or every week about what she could do. It was much better for both of us for me to just assume I was doing laundry and dishes and stuff, and her doing what she felt up to when she could. By the same token, it's super hard on a person to feel like they aren't making a contribution or are dependent on someone else.

Good luck!

Crazy: guy has a puppy off leash in a yard without a fence and is mad when it runs into the street.

It does, but that's invaluable too, and you get used to it pretty quickly. It let's you see if there's a space (dot), tab (arrow), line wrap (bent arrow), or whatever. Very useful if you deal with documents a lot.

It's better to use sections or paragraphs formatted as starting on a new page. Using page breaks or lots of blank lines to get to get things paginated is how you end up with wonky formatting like blank pages.

Gary Wright, the musician best known for his hit singles “Dream Weaver” and “Love Is Alive,” has died. He was 80. Wright’s son Dorian confirmed the news to Variety; no cause of death was announced.

He was a founding member of the U.K.-based band Spooky Tooth and was an in-demand session player from the late ’60s on, playing on all of George Harrison’s solo albums — including his epochal 1970 debut, “All Things Must Pass” — and on Ringo Starr’s early singles (and, much later, with Starr’s All-Starr Band) as well as Nilsson, Tim Rose, B.B. King and many others. Yet he will be best remembered for the mid-1970s hits mentioned above, which were part of a vaguely mystical, synthesizer-driven style of hit single of the era — Steve Miller’s “Fly Like an Eagle” is another example — and which saw him appearing on many music shows, wearing satin gear and rocking a keytar.

His first album for Warner Bros., “The Dream Weaver” — with a title track inspired by a trip to India with Harrison — was released in 1975, and while the single was a slow builder, by the following spring it was a major hit and Wright had become a big star. However, it was nearly two years before he followed with “The Light of Smiles,” and his subsequent efforts did not approach his previous success. His last charting single was 1981’s “Really Wanna Know You.”

In the following years, Wright specialized in instrumental and soundtrack work — although he made a surprise appearance in the 1992 film “Wayne’s World,” singing a re-recorded version of “Dream Weaver” — but he returned to more conventional rock music and issued a series of albums, with the last one, “Connected,” being released in 2010. He toured frequently, as a solo act, with Spooky Tooth and with Ringo’s All-Starr Band.

Over the years, his songs have continued to be covered — Chaka Khan recorded a blazing version of “Love Is Alive” for her 1984 smash album “I Feel for You” — and sampled by artists ranging from Jay-Z to Tone-Loc.

The Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a two-alarm fire early Wednesday morning on 306 Yale Blvd. SE. Officials say an abandoned Family Dollar building was involved in the fire.

Video captured a mob of thieves swarming a Nordstrom in Canoga Park as they cleared out the store during a destructive robbery on Saturday.

Chaos ensued as a large group of masked thieves clad in dark clothing scrambled around the store, grabbing armfuls of designer clothing, purses, accessories and more.

Los Angeles police received reports of the mass robbery at the Westfield Topanga mall around 4 p.m.

Police said anywhere between 20-50 suspects are believed to be involved, although the exact number has not been confirmed.

The thieves were seen violently grabbing whatever merchandise they could carry, with many seen ripping the security devices attached to designer purses and luggage items. Store shelves and display racks were destroyed, knocked over and littered across the floor along with a ton of fallen merchandise.

At one point, a security guard who tried to intervene was attacked with a chemical spray, police said. It’s unclear what that person’s condition is.

The suspects all fled in multiple getaway cars before officers could arrive. Guests were evacuated from the department store as officers cordoned off the scene during a busy Saturday.

The estimated dollar amount of stolen merchandise is not yet known.

Citizen video later showed store employees sweeping up broken glass from the floor and clearing the mess and debris strewn everywhere. Details on how the smash-and-grab robbery was coordinated remain under investigation.

As their name suggests, barreleye fish have really weird tubular eyes that they can rotate to gaze upward through their transparent foreheads. Although they appear green, the lenses are actually tinted with a yellow pigment that helps these bizarre fish distinguish between sunlight and bioluminescence.

I noticed a post from a Beehaw community on my feed today, but I thought we were defederated. Did we refederate?

Mr Trump received an additional charge of wilful retention of defence information, and two new charges of obstruction, the justice department said.

An additional person, Mar-a-Lago staff member Carlos de Oliveira, has also been indicted in the case.

Mr Trump has pleaded not guilty.

Mr Trump's aide Walt Nauta - who has similarly entered a not guilty plea - also received two additional counts of obstruction.

The new court documents outline alleged efforts between Mr Nauta and Mr de Oliviera, the property manager at Mar-a-Lago, to obstruct the justice department's investigation.

According to the new court documents, Mr Nauta and Mr de Oliveira conspired to delete footage from security cameras after the Department of Justice issued a subpoena asking for surveillance footage of the basement where it said confidential documents were held.

In the court documents, Mr de Oliveira is claimed to have texted another employee who was the director of information technology that "the boss" wanted the server deleted.

The documents allege that Mr de Oliveira later met with the employee in a small room, told him them their conversation should remain private, then pressured the man into obliging his request after the employee told Mr de Oliveira that he did not have the authority.

"What are we going to do," Mr de Oliveira allegedly asked his co-worker. A lawyer for Mr de Oliveira has declined to comment.

The "Take On Me" post reminded me that there are so many great mashups. This one is old, but having had a daughter that grew up watching The Wiggles, it just makes me giggle every time I think about it.
