For those that recently joined, it’ll get fixed, we promise!

When you have a nice, fast car....and a million people all try to get in it at once, you're gonna have some issues. Once the wave passes, you'll all find this is a nice, speedy car.

[–] quazar 4 points 1 year ago

Eh, more like, get your own car. Its slow because we are all used to going to just ONE site. We need to share the load and create our own servers.... or pay lemmy.world for more bandwidth - which I don't think they want to do.

lemm.ee Just awesome speeds!

How did you mix up a capital L for a capital I? Even if you typed it in all lowercase to a meme generator, why did you type a lower case L?

[–] Ghostalmedia 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The L makes more sense if you sound it out and remember Scotty is Scottish.

Reddit refugee here. I have no idea what’s going on but this is fun 🤷‍♂️

Lemmy is fun.

I'm knew on lemmy.world, no idea whats happening. Not knocking it, but can someone please explain if it is always slow?

[–] Little8Lost 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

it is slow because they have less server capacity then users want, you could switch to a smaller instance and then everything should be good to go

[–] matthead 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

o i have no idea how to do that? is there a concept of gold/support?

[–] Little8Lost 5 points 1 year ago

at least now there is no real system for migrating to you have to make a new account and subscribe to everything again
Here is a full list, i suggest taking a local one or one that fits your interest https://join-lemmy.org/instances
sopuli or lemmy.tf seem to be good and not too big by now

here is in general a good tutorial regarding how to start and how lemmy works https://lemmy.world/post/37906

It is not always slow. The user growth is outpacing the infrastructure growth.

I'm new here, LMAO.

It's been rough since 6/30. I can barely browse and leave comments in my .world account. I'm sticking to .ml for now.

[–] AllGoesUpMustGoDown 2 points 1 year ago

I have found .world to be really reliable at night (USA time), because most of the Reddit refugees are American. They sign up and use the site during the day, which makes things really laggy. However, when the refugees (and many other .world users) are sleeping, the website loads incredibly quickly, and there are little to no problems with the site.

Totally unrelated to the topic but to the meme: Oh man! Seeing captain baby face so soon after watching DnD makes me realize how time flies! At least Pine graduated to doing decent movies.

"L'M GIVING HER ALL SHE'S GOT, CAPTAIN!"

"L'M"

"L AM"

"EL AM"
