Moral of this story: don't try to be a vigilante law enforcer. Let the police shoot the Black man; they're professionals.

Wow, just from reading this article this sounds like a victory. She had no right to try to take the law into her own hands and now this man paid with his life.

Our founding fathers did not want random people walking around with guns ready to shoot each other for traffic accidents! Meanwhile, in Ohio last year this happened: "Gov. Mike DeWine signed a bill into law Monday removing training, background check and permitting requirements to carry a concealed weapon in Ohio". What a fuckwad Dewine is and now more guns are on the streets than before. More people like this woman will end up becoming murderers over stupid situations like this.

I almost had a glint of respect for the man back in 2020 when he stood up to Trump on the whole lockdown/mask thing, but he has lost any points he won with me in the intervening years.

"When I heard the first verdict, I knew we weren’t supposed to show signs, but tears just started rolling down my face because at that moment I felt a relief that came over," said Jacqueline Herring, one of his sisters.

Anyone know they shouldn't show signs?

Normally, before delivering the verdict, the Judge will instruct the courtroom to refrain from any outbursts and maintain order. Herring may have interpreted that as not showing any signs, or Judge could have been tightening up because the high profile nature of the case.

Why? Dude was just doing his job.

[–] chitak166 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I mean, I guess. I can just see him telling his client they have it in the bag and then he says things like...

"They didn’t show beyond a reasonable doubt that certain things happened"

"In her mind, she was a young individual trying to help out"

"No good deed goes unpunished."

The fuck kind of defense is that?

I think I misinterpreted your post, I thought you were implying the lawyer was an awful person. I wholeheartedly agree that he did a bad job.
