If this is possible, what exactly does that entail?

What would you want it to accomplish? Having the same username? Having your post history show up under the username at the new server? Having a new username but having your posts show up under the new username on the new server?

Right now none of that is possible, but there has been some discussion of possibilities.

Would you have any links to said discussions, by chance?

I was wondering about this too but I then created just a new account.

Nope, not (yet?) possible. Let's wait what the future will bring.

Not possible (yet), though maybe some time in the future.

Account migration isn't possible yet. Keep an eye on https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1985

Not to my knowledge. You can create logins in multiple servers though.

I looked into it a few days ago and the answer I came up with was no. Hopefully someone more in the loop will show up to provide a more authoritative answer and address whether it might be possible in the future.

Id like to know too. My guess is no since every community is locked to the user and switching the instance would leave the community without an owner i g.

Not possible yet, the best you can do is to create a new account and then leave a pointer to it from the old account in the form of a link in your profile or a goodbye post.

The GitHub issue tracking this for the future is https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1985
