I got permabanned from reddit, so please bring that gang over here! So loved having a place to shoot (heh) the shit about guns without the right-wing crap.
Also, can we get an ELI5 on binary triggers?
yeah I got banned on my main acct for advocating for the use of the death penalty as punishment for treason. Funny because that's literally in the law books but whatever lol.
Invisibinary is by Klaviermeister, in the **Invisiboogle **package. Internet archive is your friend ;) it comes with 3 position selectors (as you can see in the pic). Safe, Semi, Binary
You can print a trigger, but I bought the metal milspec burst trigger for $20 which makes it way more reliable. (this is all covered in the documentation)
disconnector is in the files, printed, I like it a lot and it has never failed me.
I suggest combining the trip arm and trip nub into one piece. I did this in Fusion but you might be able to align them in your slicer, no guarantee. The trip nub is what prevents the disconnector from tilting back into it's original position, thus firing the gun on the release. Semi works perfectly fine, always resets when released.
For the trip nub I anneal it with a lighter very slowly. Heat, cool, heat cool until it is shiny with no layer lines. this is a delicate dance and you'll probably ruin the first one so print a few. Well worth it and makes it last pretty much indefinitely.
I use eSun PLA+ for everything,
let me know if you have any questions. You can PM me if you end up trying it and have trouble
It's been 10 minutes.... your bucket got a hole innit?
Tell me about that lower, is that a full size mag well?
Do you have an stl for the this machine kills fascists quote? I want to embed that in a couple lowers.
I got instant downvotes LOL. Before anyone could have even read it all.
That media driven division is doing wonders
That lower is a classic design from the early days of FOSSCAD. I don't like the V2 that came out last year. It has a full size magwell so I can us CMMG mags, the top of this magazine is sized appropriately for the magwell.
No I directly modelled it into the upper. There are STEP files for the upper widely available, its like a 3 minute task in CAD. I suggest making the pivot and takedown pin holes 6.1mm and drilling them to 6.2mm
edit: I can send you the STL for the upper if that helps, but its not extruded, it's embossed. Not much use unless you want this specific upper.
Awesome thanks for the run down.
May all your pews be pews and your binary trigger bring you many bangs
no bangs, just burrrrrs lol
I always get asked if it's full auto at the range haha It's literally just as fast as a fully auto in 22LR
you have to learn the rhythm though so you don't out run the bolt or do the "pop pop...pop pop...pop pop" that I used to do when I wasn't used to it
Yeah, unfortunately, most of the gun communities here seem to be dead. And 3d printed guns are what I am most interested in so double bummer for me.
Yeah I think it's partly related to the fact you can't make posts that don't go to All. People get down voted and feel unwelcome, so they stop posting.
This would be a much better place for a fosscad community to grow than r/fosscad.
Forgot to mention one of my favorite parts:
I swear this should be on every AR, reaching all the way to the rear to charge your gun is so awkward.
22 for self defense? What?
Yeah my point of saying that was more that I don't plan to use this gun if I don't get my way if my guy doesn't get elected like a lot of people are saying out loud these days.
This is a defensive weapon and not an offensive weapon.
That said, this argument is so tired.
22LR can go right through a car door (or your skull) However it won't go through multiple walls and kill my neighbors. People act like it's a BB gun.
I understand that most people do not care if their neighbors die but I do. I live in an apartment.
When the recoil and muzzle climb is non-existent I can land 30 shots in 3 seconds in the same spot. Good luck getting two rapid fire shots with 223 in the same spot. If you miss that first one good luck. I think rapid fire 22 is more similar to buckshot. Lots of small projectiles all at once
Most of the time the bullet only enters and does not exit the skull. It will do a couple bounces before it stops inside of your brain.
That said, 10mm MP5 with AR FCG (so I can use my binary) is next. You got to start somewhere.
Depends on the car door, and even with a skull it can glance off if it hits at an angle. Also assumes you are only aiming at the skull. I did know there are people honestly admitting online they plan to go on a shooting spree if their guy doesn't win. They deserve whatever the feds wind up doing to them then.
My own neighbor I have gone shooting with has expressed this to me.
Maybe he is being edgy, but he also is massively depressed recently due to loss of income and hes looking for anyone to blame but himself.
I was going to invite him to my range day this week and I decided against it for now.
It's funny you trust law enforcement to protect you. Have you not paid attention what happened with Nathan Pelham, the insurrectionist? He shot his gun at police and they left and let him sleep it off. He only got two years instead of 20. Anyone else would have had the SWAT team called and then been turned into soup in their house.
Why is the 22 the main choice for assassins?
surely if one of the 30 bullets glances their not all 29 others will. Make that 49 once I get a reliable drum mag (if that is even possible)
Again I admit it is not the most powerful caliber. I'm looking forward to making my 10mm MP5 once I find reasonably priced parts.
I never said I trusted the feds to protect me. Law enforcement are only there to stick everyone around them in jail and ego trip. Assuming .22 lr is actually the most used by assassins, I would think it has to do with it being a quiet round. Them being subsonic plus a silencer would make it the quietest round available.
Yeah I think less mess too. If you use a silencer and subsonic rounds it might take a few moments for people to notice the person that just dropped was actually shot.
Did you know for the longest time the world record largest bear killed with a firearm was with a 22LR? It was done by an older native American woman.
If it's good enough for bears it's good enough for fascists.
Side note: took the snowflake to the range yesterday to break her in. 375 rounds no problem! About 200 of that was binary.
That was 2 mags in binary, wide spread, but no misses at least lol.
Can't say the same for the people shooting next to me in semi
