Please use spoiler tags for comic spoilers (anything that hasn't been shown in the latest episodes of the show)!

Hey all! I'd like to try starting a directed discussion, since participation in the episode discussions hasn't really happened yet (but it's slowly picking up on the sub, woohoo!). Depending on how things go I'll post more in the coming weeks :)

What was the moment or thing that happened which made you go "This isn't like other superhero media"? I think we can all agree that Invincible feels very refreshing and has many interesting ideas. Is there something you really like? Or something that defines Invincible?

Probably the end of the first episode after the credits.

I only heard of Invincible because a friend told me about the show, and we watched the first episode together. WOW, I loved it - but what made it stand out for me were the interactions between Mark and Debbie. A lot of similar shows don't define the parents/family of the protagonist well, but here we have fully fleshed-out characters that are interesting by themselves! I was immediately hooked.

I've been especially loving the Debbie focus in season 2, though I really hope things will look up for her soon. It's terrible to see such a great person in such a sad place.

  1. Be nice to each other - we're all fans of the same thing. Let's celebrate that, even if we have differences!
  2. Comic and TV show spoilers must be tagged as such, ideally by starting the title with [SPOILERS]. Let's allow everyone to feel the same surprise we felt when experiencing this amazing world for the first time!
  3. Don't spoil people in a way they can't circumvent - that means no spoilers in post titles. That goes both for comic stuff, but also the TV show. Spoilers for the latter are fine 2 weeks after the episode is released, but try to work around spoiling as much as you can!
