Squid Game: The Challenge is a reality game show based on the sensational South Korean drama series. But this gruesome, creatively misbegotten concept should never have made it past the first meeting.

This is exactly how i felt when I saw they made this. I was kinda shocked some of my friends were able to watch it without feeling the ick. Like, i get that really its no better than something like Survivor or other reality+game show format shows, but the fact that the entire point of the original show was to showcase the abject cruelty of late stage capitalism was insanely obvious, and I haven't even watched the original.

It's for people who like reality competition shows, not for people who like a unique, but violent kdrama.

It's just for a different audience.

I'd recommend Squid Game to someone who liked Parasite, but Squid Game: The Challenge is for people who like Big Brother, maybe.

This disgusting behavior from Netflix has killed all of my interest in Squid Game season 2. Way to completely misunderstand what the show is about.
