Pffff that’s poor people. What about the rich people on vacation for a week?? When will we learn to think about the rich people?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

So let me get this straight. You think the Virgin Islanders are rich?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I was obviously being facetious. Poking at the fact that rich vacationers visit the Virgin Islands while endorsing the above commenters opinion. Yes they (virgin islanders) need infrastructure as do many places.

Did you really read that as if I’m worried about one needing community and not about another, or were you being a dick?

And there was an infrastructure bill that passed through Congress to give them that help. Tough to lay pipe in the blue bitch volcanic rock, though. Meanwhile, before that happens, a way should be found to stop the drinking of leaded water, which I would guess would be the reason for an emergency order.

A ton of extremely wealthy people visit there. It's almost becoming a regular tourist destination, but for a long while it was very exclusive

I've been there 7 or 8 times on business. There are some great beaches if you like that sort of thing. I wouldn't think a ton of tourists is a very good description. For that, I'd think Barbados would be better.

Maybe if they knew that Daniel Radcliffe lives in Flint they would be more sympathetic.

As a Chicago resident, I’d love if the lead pipes that bring water to my tap were considered an emergency.

Haha, I lived downtown there for 4 years. Maybe that would explain some cognitive deficiencies and random violent rage...

And everyone knows that lead consumption makes conservatives.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

That's weird. They use desalination plants, though it could go through lead pipe.

Still waiting for this care in New Hampshire for all the forever chemicals in the waterways and ground water...

I mean I'm glad they are being overly cautious but these testing methods sound like a shit show.
