Bringing these 3 lights (Sofirn SC21, Fireflylite P01, and Convoy S21E) out on a lake trip for Fourth of July weekend.

I'm hoping to do some night time lake beamshots while kayaking around!

Are they ok with lithium batts on planes? I would have assumed i was supposed to check them.

Li-ion batteries must be in carry-on. You can't monitor checked baggage or respond to fires in the cargo bay.

They let me through security with them!

According to USPS shipping rules, lithium ion batteries can be shipped via air mail if they are inside of the device they are intended to be used with. So maybe this applies to air travel too?

This is what I have been told by several flashlighters who have flown with lights in their carry-on or on their person.

Yeah who knows lol. I mean the only real danger is when you’re charging them kinda? Maybe? I think?

Either way, have fun on the lake! Sounds awesome.

I believe the rule is you can bring batteries containing up to a certain mass of lithium, and they interpret that as up to 100 WH of batteries. That is why you see so many 98 WH (26800 mAH) power banks. People like to bring them when they travel.

Is that a 3d printed lamp mod for the middle one? Does it work well enough to read by?
