Lots of folks resigned because the chairman of the American Conservative Union, Matt Schlapp, sexually assaulted men--groping them without their consent.

All I’m saying is that straight men don’t get groped nearly as often at liberal and leftist events. And if a gay event is the sort where people will get groped unexpectedly it’s not something they hide.
Schlapp blamed the allegations on “fake journalists”
Not that I have a ton of sympathy for Mr. Gropey-McHandsy making moves without consent, but he is clearly in a big cycle of shame, fear and self-hate. I guarantee you that he is looking in the mirror and telling himself to be better at controlling his "urges", all he can do when his life, career and social circle has bigotry as such a given. I hope one day he finds the courage to come out, but... doing so will mean having to reckon with how much harm he has caused.
