TLDW: It's to make it look like they're growing healthy crops when the authorities check satellite imagery or look from far away in a plane or on a hilltop. They also paint the ground green for the same reason.
Isn't this the guy that claimed China (supposedly) "saved" his life because of the (alleged) "white genocide" in South Africa?
