One of my favorite parts of my day was reading through the daily thread on r/financialindependence. Anyone interested in having the same thing here?

Definite yes from me, the daily thread is great just to feel like I'm not the only person pursing FI and thinking about it. Most people around me have no interest or find it unrealistic and I'm not one to push it on them, so its fantastic to hear from people that are also taking it seriously

Feel free to start one tomorrow. I’d be happy to post there :)

Yes.

I also liked the older themed threads, like frugal Friday. Perhaps have a themed thread monthly and alternate themes each month? Ideas:

  • frugal - how you saved money
  • milestone - "spreadsheet day" type posts
  • tools/apps - calculators, budgeting apps, etc
  • trip report/planning - discuss recent trips, upcoming trips, etc

Or something like that. That way certain types of discussion get captured in one recurring thread.

I did enjoy reading those threads as well. I rarely participated by posting my own top level comment, but would occasionally respond to others. I would make an effort to post more though, if I saw the thread each day.

I’d be interested. The daily thread was probably my favorite part of that subreddit
