Somehow, when you threw a pot to yourself, it did not immediately doused the flame periods. To me it seemed to douse the flame on character, but not on the tile itself, causing the grass from talent's effect to burn and ended up burning you again. Would be nice if the talents only limit to drinking the pots, not throwing. Someone have also complained that the new talents made the flame pots more lethal, but unnecessarily so especially when breaking barricade as you might ended caught up in the flames. Sure you can just use other means, but that might not always be available.

The fire dousing effect does definitely trigger before the fire would have a chance to spread from liquid nature, and the potion splash applies to burning terrain and characters. Potion splashes only douse the exact tile that they're thrown on though, so if there's more fire nearby the grass will help it spread.

Gotcha, I observed wrongly. Then I have to say "very hard" instead of "almost impossible". My suggestion still stand tho, that is to activate only on drinking.

IMO it's almost never worth it to spend a potion to douse flames anyway.
