You see, the problem is that you have one too few lanes and not enough throughput to handle the induced demand of the previously added lane.

If you build enough lanes, eventually there will be no actual places to go to and demand will go back down.
Genius! You just solved urban planning!
I realize it's only a render, but you'll probably need twice as many lanes to start to satisfy the manufactured demand
Yeah, it's literally just masking but a real highway.
Just build a road one mile wide between and directly through the middle of every urban center so suburbanites have an easier time getting where they're going. This is so easy I should be a road planner
Just cut out the middle man and bulldoze the urban centers entirely, that's the end goal for suburban car centric folk anyway - To never have to interact with another human ever for any reason and destroy any reason that they might need to because they think they're the brilliant savant protagonist of the world and every other person on the planet is some dummy dumdum NPC.
Just look how the carbrain stalkers of fuckcars act, anybody who doesn't worship at the church of petrol by having 6 cars in their yard is treated as some Sat morning cartoon villain because they checks notes ride the bus.
Wow, where's that?
It's a VFX shot duplicating I10 in downtown LA a few times to make it look way wider than it actually is by Corridor Crew.
