It might have been for flare or it might have been to guarantee avoiding the roof/getting closer to the ground. I'm not claiming either but at those speeds it can be hard to drop without slowing down a lot

Honestly, with drone operators running with soon to be years of experience with these kamikaze drones, I imagine it just might be nothing but straight up flexing for the videos at this point
