Bayern bidding for Kane according to Ornstein. Interesting!

[–] ScorpionFrog 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Apparently it was less than €70m bid, no way Levy sells him for that

Imagine Kane cheaper than Rice lol

[–] antwan 1 points 2 years ago

I find it hard to imagine him being sold for less than $100 million in that market. Although Bayern doesn't usually spend a lot of money on expensive players either

How many times am I going to read "Havertz medical to take place in next few hours"? At this rate we'll get Rice first after all.

Just got back from seeing the new Wes Anderson movie. It sure was a Wes Anderson movie.... also, Rice by the end of the week, please, my heart can't take much more of this.

Was the movie good? I’ve been eyeing it up but unsure if I actually want to see it or not.

I thought it was solid - I'd say 7/10. For reference, I really enjoyed Grand Budapest and did not love the French Dispatch. Anderson takes his framing devices to another level in this movie, so if that annoys you, that might affect your enjoyment.

It's a star-studded cast but that almost makes it worse for me - so many people are in it that didn't necessarily need to be. I can't complain too much, though, I assume it's indicative of Anderson's success when so many high-profile actors/actresses want to be involved in his pictures.

I loved Grand Budapest but skipped French a dispatch because I had heard similar experiences about it.

The star-studded cast is actually one of the reasons I’m kinda “meh” on seeing it. It feels gimmicky and I worry there isn’t much story there.

Outside of the "what... are they doing here?" reaction for a few of the characters when you first see who's playing them, I wouldn't say it detracts too hard from the story. It's a story by an artist, about his art, and thus it's a little navel gazey, but I thought it still made for a good narrative.

ah, gotcha. Thanks for letting me pick your brain on what you thought of the movie!

No problem at all - I can't do any work because my eyes are dilated and I can't read anything :D Hope you enjoy if you do end up seeing it!

I “like” almost all Anderson films and occasional really love one. I get a feeling that Asteroid City will be a a”like” that I can catch up on later.

Very strange how Arsenal have gone radio silent since the 2nd bud was rejected. All of the information is coming out from West Ham like a leaky sieve.

I do think if we come in with a strong bid equaling or surpassing 100m with add-ons and a good payment structure we will win.

My concern however comes from the club not having a clear history of doing so, and I fear a 95m bid with minimal chance in structure.

Anyone heard any news about Nwaneri's scholarship? Been seeing a few youth signings on Romano's Twitter and I'm getting nervous

The Spuds are really going to die on that grave huh?

[–] sensiblepuffin 3 points 2 years ago

From their perspective, dying on a hill is at least guaranteed to be a local maximum

[–] ironeaglebird 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They're going to "rebuild" the team around Kane again.

I don't know haha. They're always making the wrong type of moves.
