Atlanta’s largely unloading Collins’ three years, $78M for some roster building

The Hawks are expected to continue to be in a deal-making mode this offseason and ownership has given GM Landry Fields the OK to move into the luxury tax should it be necessary to improve the roster, sources said.

Damn, basically for nothing.

Exactly what I thought: is there something we don't consider? Contract? Locker room presence? And is Gay still good?

Guess they should've traded him a couple of years ago when his trade value seemed a lot higher. Guess this was mostly a cost savings move with the new CBA incoming?

probably and absolutely

100% cost saving move, his finger got destroyed and it is supposedly not going to get any better. Freak injury kinda ruined his career from what I understand. You can search for his highlights and see it pretty clearly... It's not pretty

Yeah, 100% CBA reasons. Hard for them to upgrade/add players with the second apron.

Wow, after years and years of rumors of Collins being moved, it's finally happened. Doesn't seem like much of a return at all.

Wow, is this all the Hawks could get for Collins?

Awesome deal for the Jazz! Love it.

Who's going to start at the 4 now? Slide Hunter over and start Saddiq or Griffin at the 3?

Is JC too expensive for the Mavs? I can see him helping Luka and the team defense.

Damn that's all he's worth?

He ruined his finger around the time of the 2022 ASG, and hasn't been able to shoot since. It's "fully recovered" but also not at all recovered, with apparently little hope for improvement.

The trade rumor mill will never be the same

I hope the Hawks are cooking something good after this. This does not look good for them.
