I should be that easy to convince people that plants don't feel pain 🤷♂️
I'm pretty sure that won't do much to convince someone to become vegan though. Whether or not plants feel pain sounds like a distraction rather than an actual barrier to becoming a vegan.
It's one less excuse. Based on my understanding of probabilities, for most it won't be the final straw.
You should never eat potatoes.
