I'm so glad that quack who claims he helped invent the mRNA vaccine getting completely forgotten as he was one of the biggest misinformation vaccine peddlers during the pandemic.

Leave it to medicine to patent life saving technology instead of putting it out there for the general good of everyone.

Here is an article from 2021 that has a network analysis of how vaccine patents are licensed between pharmaceutical companies. Licensed patents are still better than nothing.

I guess Jonas Salk was just a sucker

My point is pretty much the opposite of that. Medicine shouldn't even be patentable.

These guys are heroes. Doing their job, but they came in clutch and saved millions of lives.

Not just that but mRNA vaccines are a very novel kind of delivery system. It has the possibility to completely revolutionize vaccines and medicine.

It's absolutely fascinating and I'm eager to see what the future will bring out of it.

I bet Bill Gates is feeling really cheated right about now. All those years iterating through the different versions Windows and 5G, building the perfect virus, only to have these two quacks steal his thunder.

Bill Gates's work may make him eligible for the peace prize, but he is NOT a doctor, clinician, or medical researcher. He shouldn't be eligible for the medicine prize.
