I’m in my first play through of Diablo 3 currently and I’m level 27. I have some OP rare items and they all regen my health so I can’t die. I’m wondering if keeping these on while I level up will stop my from getting better and better armor or weapons?

Like right have I have 33 rare armor pants but I have normal blue 76 armor ones. If I put on higher armor armor and weapons would I be getting higher level armor and weapons? Basically wondering if sticking with certain ones would hinder the loot

Honestly I feel like armor in D3 doesn't matter too much while leveling. As long as you're upgrading your weapons and damage stats you should be fine until at least close to max level. I'm sure you'll find upgrades for those items along the way too. You can always stash other higher level items in case you start dying a lot for some reason.

Is there any point in spending coins before max level? I’ve just been saving

Not really^^ depends on the class and difficulty you can plow through. I would advice to not increase the difficulty for the first playthrough and enjoy the story, bosses and so on.

there is always new loot to pick up, don't get too attached to what you currently have

Loot depends on your level and difficulty, so feel free to use anything what is usable for you. You can always consider to play on higher difficulty if you are not dying and killing enemies fastly (max 2 hits). Sooner or later, you’ll find item which will give you more power and will be more valuable than the items you currently wear. The more to lvl 70, the more need to use the max lvl items.

Your armour doesn't matter while leveling.
Your power spikes in d3 are in order:

  • 2/4/6 set bonus (maaasive spike, a 6 set with completely random stats still pushes you into t10)
  • farming for appropriate leggies (will push you up to t13, or even t16 depending on the build and leggy)
  • getting non-random attribute combos on your gear and getting level 25 on your gems. (This will get you to at least gr80 if not higher).
  • finally: infinite grind of getting better rolls and higher attunements. (Here is where you lose your sanity)
