The George cross is indeed a British military award, that Malta received in 1942 for its bravery in WWII.

Is there a reason for the Maltese cross to be white surrounded by a red rectangle? It might be better for it to be replaced by a red Maltese cross of the same size, perhaps in the same location of the George cross in the present flag.

Considering only three institutions have received the George cross, being Malta, the Royal Ulster Constabulary and the UK's National Health service, shouldn't it be displayed more proudly? ๐Ÿ˜‚
