Hi I recently reviewed my Google account settings on my phone. On exploring it I found that I can Remove almost every annoying tracker,I can delete my data,Remove services,Disable Personised ads etc. After giving it 20minutes of my day I found that Google do not deserve the Hate it gets from FOSS and PRIVACY Consious people. Is there some real reason why you should not use google products for privacy or It is just everybody want to live a Hacker's life.

Its funny and naive to think a “do not track me” button actually stops google tracking you.

Most websites and web services, including Google's, don't change their behavior when they receive a Do Not Track request.

You have to waste 20 minutes to get some privacy, without being able to verify if it’s true. That’s pretty evil for me.

Everyone just wants to be a hacker :P the only evil google does is to try and make you unaware of the trade you're making be taking their services for no money in exchange for your behavior information. Even if you turn off the tracking Google still can use your data, just not tied to you specifically. They also have all the data if there was a rogue element inside Google that could effectively steal everything they have on you regardless of legal agreements.

That can be some general data like where I live,Who I am,What I do etc. But do they gather data like what I like even after I disable these things off ? Also, do they review my personal data on there servers like my google photos,Files on drive etc ? 🤨🤨

Yes its sarcasm. When using google you are the product. Simple as that

Google tends to be good about security.

Google's revenue is mostly from ads, which means they're intentionally bad at privacy. They're one of the biggest data hoarders. Your data. If it's free, you're the product.™ Yes, they're evil and you'd have to live without internet to never be touched by them, if ever so slightly.

Well, law enforcement helps to force them not being that evil, but dark patterns persist if legal. Bad by default, time wasting to set up. If you find some liable dark pattern activity, it helps more than a user point of view. Some Google cases: https://www.deceptive.design/cases?*=google Also take a look to the Hall of shame section: https://www.deceptive.design/hall-of-shame?brand=Google

Yes. It is.

They make most of their money providing a web ad platform. That should be a no-brainer, OP.

Nobody is born evil, with their decisions, they become one. I can't say google is evil or not, simply because they are collecting a lot of information from their users. I don't know and nobody can comprehend what they are doing with all of it, but all I can say is that they made information finding in general easy for everyone. They created and destroyed a lot of services. Ultimately they are helping people all around the world by helping their business interests grow.
