Thanks for joining me! On reddit, I was 99% a lurker, so this is a good opportunity for me to be more actively engaged and actually contribute.

Great community. Looking forward to seeing submissions!
Looking forward to this growing aswell. I need my fix of vicariously living through internet homesteaders while I'm living in the middle of the city lol
I'm with you there - need to get out. Working on a degree in forestry so I can (hopefully) get a job in a rural area that pays enough to buy some land with arable soil and water. Have you begun any kind of planning process? My spouse and I have a lot of planning already in place. We've even begun a business plan to help secure a loan for a market garden / homestead. Are you doing any urban gardening?
That sounds really cool. Unfortunately I have no plans other than long term ideas right now. I do quite a bit of urban gardening in my little plot, I'm lucky enough to have a nice south-facing garden and terrace. I love what I have but it makes me wish I had a yard!
Former reddit lurker here too. Looking forward to participating more in the fediverse
I'm here too. Homesteading is all about self reliance. And I think lemmy aligns with that value.
Thanks for making the community. I don't have any land myself, but in a few short years I plan on having my own operation up and running!
