MODERATORS

Hello everybody, I created this community a few days ago, as a big fan of r/horrorlit on reddit. And then my AC broke, and then a storm came through and killed power for my entire area, so I've been a little preoccupied.

I apologize, as I do want to be active in this community and see it grow. If you know anybody who is a fan of horror books, tell them to stop on by! Suggestions, reviews, discussions, and anything else you can think of are allowed here, as long as it's about horror books/stories/etc., and you're not toxic.

I've never been a mod for a community before, so bear with me as I learn. Also, if anybody wants to join as a mod, let me know, I'd appreciate the help!

To start things off, I want to know your favorite subgenre of horror. Personally, cosmic/strange horror with a heavy dose of comedy is right up my alley.

Thanks for reading my rambling, and I hope this community keeps growing!

Thanks for starting this community, it was one of my favorites on reddit. I particularly like ghost stories and anything where creepy stuff is happening in the home, and in your bedroom. Heart-Shaped Box and Hex both did this well.

Have you read Hollow Kingdom? Plenty of comedy and a surprising amount of pathos.

I adore Hollow King! It was absolutely hilarious but also heartbreaking. I have the second book sitting in my stack, hopefully I'll get to read it soon!

Thanks for starting this! I got some great recommendations from the Reddit community and I hope more people find their way over here.

I love anything supernatural and Lovecraftian, personally. I've actually watched more horror films than I have read books though, so still kinda new to the genre.

Have you thought about making the "whatcha reading?" posts a weekly thing? It might be a cool way to get the ball rolling a bit.

Yes, I'm for sure hoping to get some weekly discussions going. I will start trying to figure out more of that soon! Thanks for joining!
