I'm seeing an unhealthy amount of fetal alcohol syndrome in that picture.

What exactly is a healthy level of fetal alcohol syndrome?
Zero
Did somebody just see Newsies for the first time? 😉
That’s my cigar
You'll steal anotha!
Did they open the gates and seize the day?
They may own the World but they don’t own us !
Will you be a lousy scab or will you be a man?!
Sad to see this. Not sure if it's a slap at people being like oooh 12 year olds did it but if that's the case it's more sad that they had to work at that age at all.
Not only did they strike but they struck back violently when responded to with violence. The police would come out and crack a few heads and they would dip out then later those same cops would end up getting beat near to death by literal children.
Since you didn't include a source for your claims I have no choice but to believe you fully. That's wild!
I especially like the quote of one of the strikers: "Ain’t that 10 cents worth as much to us as it is to Hearst and Pulitzer, who are millionaires? Well, I guess it is. If they can’t spare it, how can we?”

This is what the 90’s Disney Musical Newsies is based on (starting Christian Bale)
There was also a Broadway adaptation in 2012
I've heard of it, but never seen it. Like a lot of movies I need to change that, but when I go to watch something, my mind is always blank on what I've been meaning to watch.
There’s a professionally shot film of the Broadway performance on Disney+. I think the Broadway version is even better than the original film. It’s fun watching both.
I guess the story is that Disney wanted another musical hit that could be filmed and released before their next animated film after the little mermaid came out. So they got the guy that did the music for the little mermaid and tried a live action movie musical.
It kinda flopped, but became a cult classic with theater kids. Eventually Disney had someone rework a few songs and did a small theater run. It became a success and ran on broadway. It’s now a very popular title for regional theaters. Check and see if there’s a theater venue near you that is doing the musical, it’s really great live.
Thanks
Never saw it. What I will tell you is that I deal with Disney people in a corporate setting and they are backstabbers. Happiest place on Earth my ass. I would say that Disney is the villain if there is the big corporation to hate on in that production.
Well it’s from 1992. So it’s 31 years old. A lot has changed at the big D in 30 years.
The Dollop did a great episode on this.
Some of the people on the photo look like ghosts. On top of that all of that people are dead today. Kinda creepy everytime with old pictures like that
