General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

“Anyway, if it wasn’t for the left-wing wokerati these schools would all be fine. There would be no crumbling concrete if it wasn’t for pronouns and unisex toilets.

“But no, I have not yet been able to draw a credible link between culture war issues and the crumbling schools, but we will find one, I promise you. And when we do, you’ll never hear the end of it.”

The problem is clearly wokrete not being able to decide if it identifies as they/them or it.

We discovered satire long before the USA was founded.

The USA was founded by people who already understood satire, that's why there's so much in our constitution.

Everyone knows the Mayflower was principally full of devout satirists who wanted to break with English satirists, who were forcing them to satirise in private because their satire was considered too extreme.

Almost choked on my tofu. Now to read the article.

Edit: I’m not sure concrete is woke. Many moons ago one of our political people seemed to think you could grow it though so maybe?

Thank you for finding the clip! An incredulous performance from Mike Graham.

The gentleman from Insulate Britain conducted himself quite well. Straight face and all that.

The little head shake and smirk Cameron does is incredible

It is the fault of the illegal migrants coming in from the channel. The vibrations from the boats are destroying our schools.

Just remind me, how long are the Tories controlling the fate of the country now?

No one can ever ‘make’ you do something you don’t want to do. You always have a choice.
