You've got one more user here, at least.

I was also debating starting an instance, I wasn't sure if we had enough of a draw but I guess this is a great start.

I was mostly a lurker on Connecticut, I'll try to do more here.

Thanks for getting it started from the bank of the funniest named river in ct if not the us.

What’s the river called?

Are you really a nutmegger if you've never been in Mianus?

Come to Mianus!

You should see the wood in Mianus.

The sewage plant in Mianus is particularly stinky today.

The butcher shop closed, so there is no meat in Mianus.

The Mianus gorge is vast and gaping.

LOL one time I took someone on a date at Mianus river park and he thought it was so funny, I never noticed the spelling until then

Howdy, neighbor!

I also don't know what groups are called over here. Only got approved for my Lemmy.one account this morning.

How long have you been over here?

Oh you know.... Today. Just got bored and looked into the alternatives. I saw this one mentioned several times so I figured I'd check it out.

I think they're called communities here. Curious how this will play out.

So, I assume we are called lemmings?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Lemmings seem to be the consensus.

I'm hedging my bets a bit - trying a couple different communities out to see which one might be the best fit for me. But this is gonna be an interesting bit of future internet anthropology we get to live through, though.

Curious to see which instances you find worthy. I just went for one of the big ones to get started.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I meant full on different communities. Not just different Lemmy instances.

[–] shertson 2 points 1 year ago

Sorry, I misread that. I hope you get to enjoy the beautiful weather today!

Yeah, I'm curious how the drama at reddit is actually going to play out. I don't imagine it'll be the death of it, just a shift to something different.

Which community seems the most promising to you so far? This is the only one I've checked out yet, and not much at that

Another instance I’m on calls the groups “magazines”. Maybe the verbiage is different instance to instance.

Thanks for making the group! I'll try not to be a lurker like I was on Reddit.

Joined! Debating on deploying a container to help with the load and upkeep.

Thank you. I needed a new place to get my daily mountain lion sightings.
