It sucks the way a "normified" word dictates the process we use to make something.

Like, "sugar". We have other ways of sweetening stuff, but sugarcane industries probably have a stranglehold because people see terms like "agave" and think "No thanks, I don't want some weird experimental plant made by communists, I want just plain 'sugar'."

That's how dairy milk is always made. The cows must have calves, otherwise they don't produce milk.

And the calves must be separated from their mothers more or less around birth, otherwise there won't be enough milk left for profit.
