I read the Silo trilogy years ago and loved it. So far the show is different, but still pretty good. The sci-if is really only in the surroundings. At its heart, it’s a story about how people in small confined communities will try to break free.

Yeah I really want to just read the books, I hear great things. Does this season pretty much = book 1? Will definitely finish the show out.
The TV show doesn't really mirror the book. The casting has been fairly on point, but there's no "Judicial" in the book that I recall. Not necessarily a bad thing, since IT is still there. I'm curious to see how it plays out. I'm happy the author has been involved in the production from the start.
I have been watching it but I just don't get something. They leave those bodies out there so do they have a huge stock of suits? Why are there only a few bodies out there? Lots of little holes like this put a damper on the show for me.
The show is slightly different than the books, so I'm not 100% sure how it will play out, but without giving anything away, the suits are a pretty important plot point. They've also alluded to another one in a few episodes. As for why leave the bodies out there, what should they do with them? You see early on that a person can't last very long out there, so why would they waste resources retrieving possibly radiated bodies to do... something with them? As you saw with the mayor, bodies are buried in the farming levels to compost and feed future crops. Plus, them staying out there serves as a reminder that people are safe in the silo. FWIW, IIRC the view screen to the outside was only on the top floor in the books. Plus, I think the silo might have been deeper in the books. I think there were over 300 levels in the books. I don't recall a specific number in the show, but I think it's something in the high 100s or low 200s? Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
Actually finished watching 3-South today. Very comfy and some of the humor is still funny. I can see why they cancelled it. Definitely a show locked in time. Can't see it being made any other era than the early 2000s.
Tried watching Gundam forever ago. Just not interested in mech shows at all. There's only 1 i've ever liked.
Never even heard of 3-South! 20 min episodes I’ll have to check it out.
Week of 6/18: I watched the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. It's okay. I miss Discovery.
The first season was tolerable. The first episode of the second season wasn't that great IMHO. Hope it gets better.
I really enjoyed Discovery as well. Have not given Strange New Worlds a chance yet.
Silo has just been "vault drama" this whole season, without exploring anything that makes the premise of the story interesting. I also don't find the characters particularly compelling.
didnt read the book but I am really curious where they are going this coming episode! hopefully they dont do the whole cliffhanger and drag it the hell out ....
Yeah that kinda sums up my feelings as well
I started watching the new season of Alone.
Unicorn: Warriors Eternal. It's Genndy Tartakovsky's new show on Adult Swim. He's been trying to get this made for about 20 years. It's really good so far and I'd recommend checking it out.
The purpose of the suits is hardly a secret in the show. In the first couple of episodes it becomes obvious because the sherif takes his helmet off during the dying process.
My question is not about the purpose of the suits I think I have guessed that already it's the fact that
- There isn't a huge pile of bodies outside the door (people die within steps).
- The suits are not recovered so how big of a stockpile do they have?
Finished watching The Dangers in My Heart, I expected its to be really bad based off the synopsis but unexpectedly i ended up loving it! Such an unbelievably sweet and adorable show.
Also finished Skip and Loafer, another fantastic show, possibly personal favorite of the current season, it's a slice of life/romance coming of age show, highly highly recommend it.
Keeping up with Witch from Mercury, my first Gundam, completely invested, fingers crossed for 3rd season Σ( ̄□ ̄;) I recommend listening to the prequel audiobook, it's narrated by the voice of the protagonist, avoid the comments, there might be spoilers.
Been keeping up with Silo, it started really strong but currently I'm not that invested, they introduced a big mystery early on and then kinda ditched it for other stuff, maybe it'll pick up again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Been watching The Boys lately, on season 3 now
The new season of The Bear has been really good.
Black Mirror. Bit bored to be honest.
Yeah not the strongest season. I thought beyond the sea was pretty good though
