!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

I think this option isn't available on Jerboa (Android client) yet?

Maybe it varies from instance to instance, but on sh.itjust.works there's a crosspost button near the report flag.

You can find it as the two overlapping squares at the bottom of the header:

Screenshot, for some reason I can't embed directly.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but is there any way I can view where something is crossposted to? If I see a post i like, I might find other interesting communities by looking at the crossposted-list

I think you have to do it manually. I haven't seen any short cut myself.

I don't use lemmy but apparently there is a button a bit hidden somewhere. I believe this question was asked here earlier today.

You are Posting from a lemmy instance on a lemmy instance, how do you NOT use lemmy?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I'm not posting from a lemmy instance. I'm posting from a kbin instance and therefore not using lemmy.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ahhh ok, thats i tresting. Kbin to lemmy works But not vice versa?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I thought it works both ways. You just need to add the kbin magazine to lemmy.

Somebody asked exactly the Same question about the Same kbin sub i want to add :D

https://diggit.xyz/post/11193 Its Only 4 days old yet and so far no reply, But yeah.

Cannot add [email protected]

Oh, I just assumed it would work. But indeed it does not work in the way you described (and that's how it works on kbin as well). I was curious and did some searching. I stumbled upon this thread: https://lemmy.world/post/225841 and apparently you need to paste the whole URL from kbin in the search bar and then it shows up (I tested it on a lemmy instance and it seemed to work).

Edit: And it shows that federation does not always work great. Since your instance had 0 replies but that instance had replies and the correct one as well. Didn't notice it was the same question/post until after posting this.

Fuuuuck you have to do it for every magazine? Rip.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Thats ok, happens all the time ^^ At least we both now Know what to Do and hopefully in a couple of month lemmy will be better federating with kbin. Right now we are all "Pioneers"

This thing is so confusing 😭

The button looks like a copy icon. Just mouseover the buttons to the right of the comment count.
