You mentioned beeps. Can you describe them for us? How many, how long? Are there any visible lights anywhere flashing?
Buildapc
Added to post but 1 long 3 short. No flashing.
Would you mind sharing more on what's happening? Does it refuse to power on anymore? Do you get some sort of error message? What kind of power supply do you have?
Agreed, usually for troubleshooting you strip it down to the bare essentials if it isn't booting. 1 stick of ram, no hard drive, some type of graphics. Getting it as simple as possible so you are removing variables.
I've seen mice that prevent a computer from posting, so sometimes it's really weird causes.
Honestly, I'm wondering at this point if I shouldn't just get another motherboard. This one doesn't have onboard graphics, so I have no way to do what you're saying. My mouse is Bluetooth so it's not even in the same room anymore. I only have access to a laptop now, so I can't even put the hardware in a different computer to test it.
I was actually going to ask if you had another one. Sometimes it isn't the card, it is the slot or a controller. If you have access to another board you can rule that out.
I've basically come to the conclusion that a new motherboard is necessary. Should I assume this was a one off and get the same one, or try a different one?
Your current might be under warranty. I would check that first. You don't need to change it if you are happy with the theoretical limits of it.
It powers on fine. The only error is post that I can see because I can't use the monitor to see anything else. There is no onboard graphics so the monitor isn't usable.
Power supply I put in the post, it's 750W modular.
Did you use two seperate PSU cables for each 8 pin on the GPU?
It's only got 1. I'd need a second power supply for a second cord. My very first pc build had interchangeable cords, but this power supply doesn't. The fans on the cards work, so it's definitely getting power.
Pretty sure you looked it up, but yeah the manual says its "No VGA detected". Hmm maybe that PCIE slot is messed up? Try another slot? Do you have an iGPU? Does that work?
I put it in the second slot and it still does the same thing.
There is no integrated graphics.
Have you try cleaning RAMs and GPU? I changed my PSU and it wouldn't boot into bios with a led on the boot. End up just cleaning the connector of each RAM stick and it work like a charm.
A few things, your CPU is the component which would host the on-board graphics not the motherboard. Intel CPUs that do not have an -F in their model number have on-board graphics (11400 or 11600K for example) so knowing what model you have may clarify this.
I assume that the system is no longer able to POST even with the new graphics card installed? This likely indicates that it is an issue with the motherboard itself potentially having a damaged connection to the GPU (just a guess). It would also be helpful if you have a recording of the beeps to help you confirm the pattern.
