I'm not a big porn user, but I get an absolute ton of posts from lemmy.nsfw

It's clearly all porn, is there a way to block the entire instance with voyager? All I see are block communities.

I also don't want to block all nsfw posts

Hopefully this will make its way into the Lemmy software soon.

Yeah I want to block exploding heads, it's all just like inflammatory mean spirited shit and there's too many communities on there to keep playing whack a mole each time I see a new one

It might be worth joining an instance that defederated from exploding heads

I'm going to look at making my own instance for personal use when I get the time, I already have a home server and the learning would be beneficial for my work, just a matter of finding time

  1. Subscribe to some communities you DO like and use your subscribed feed more often. It's easier to subscribe to what you want then to block everything you don't.
  2. There's some app that does have this feature. I don't remember which, but you should be able to search it up. The normal way to do this is blocking at the server, and that's a frequently requested feature that hasn't been built yet... but apps can fetch the posts and just not display them... client-side blocking. A non-zero number have this feature to block an instance.
  3. Some day this will likely get built into lemmy itself and all clients will get it.

Hard disagree.

That’s kinda like saying why not just listen to the music that you already know you like instead of trying out stuff you’ve never heard of before. Where’s the fun in only looking at stuff you already know you like and also have the forethought to look for and subscribe to? I like browsing by all because I can find things I didn’t know to search for and things that I never would have thought would interest me but do.
