I actually think it's pretty cool the other subs are doing it, spez isn't going to do anything but at least it floods Reddit with stuff they can't actually sell to data miners.
Lemmy turned out to be a pretty good alternative. Reddit is only going to keep getting worse.
I am actually enjoying the lack of a karma system on Lemmy and the absence of data miners too.
Yea, I think this whole fiasco has shown which mods have the balls to stand up for what they believe in and which ones crumble because they want to hold on to their little Internet power. I think Moist Critical said it best in his YouTube video - some mods folded so quickly as soon as it seemed like their subs might get taken away.

Yea, it's a bit janky on the apps but in desktop it auto fills it for you hence why you see inconsistent tagging.

As I mentioned yesterday, right now I've just given out the roles based on engagement needs rather than actual moderation. So decided to give it to the folks driving the daily threads.
Next set of mods will definitely be around the more technical moderation tools like bots, etc.
We're fortunate enough that right now the mods don't actually need to do moderation - partly because we're a small community, partly because we're not assholes.
Eventually when we need a full mod team, we'll probably involve the community in deciding who the mods are but I think we're still a way from there.

There was one recently yeah lol. I honestly don't pay attention to the local leagues as much as I would like cuz I'm an overseas student now and cuz have you tried? It's not on Fotmob or Onefootball or any app, and my club isn't even on pay-per-view TV lol cuz first division league.
Isn't it usually streamed on the team's YouTube? It's also occasionally on RTHK TV if I'm not mistaken....which I get on "the box". Not sure if "the box" is a thing that's available in your area.

But on a serious note, I'm curious to see what kind of selling fee Chelsea will get and whether they can squeeze it into this fiscal year or not. Poch has his work cut out for him and I don't think he is going to get the patience that the Chelsea rebuild needs. There are just too many issues to address all at once but they dug themselves a 500m grave they will have troubles getting out of, whether the Saudi's help much or not.
I'm glad to see players getting real money, instead of that money flowing to team owners etc.
It's too bad that to do it they need to go move to silly league without fans, but hopefully it will trickle back into the real leagues.
