Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

His best work IMO is State of the art

He didn't mean to cut you off

I know this is just a joke, but he very much meant to cut us all off. He changed ~~his number~~ his stage name, because he didn't want to be a famous artist.

He didn't have to stoop so low

That would've been perfect in response to @[email protected]

Timing is everything

I didn't know him personally, but I still listen to his album "making mirrors" regularly.

I recommend you check out state of the art

Gosh, he has so many great songs. There are a bunch that are on my playlist that I will fight for.

Also, the music videos are great. Big recommend on trying his other music

I like that you like him. He's not my bag, baby, but I don't think he's a bad artist. Just not to my tastes.

But I'm glad he has fans.

I bought the album based on that one song, and it was not good. Nothing else on it sounded like that song in any way.

I actually love that everything he does sounds different. There are so many artists that have a specific "sound" and stick to it forever. He's experimental and adventurous and tries so many things, lot of stuff that's unique and interesting, and other stuff that's not for me, but it's clearly for him. I think it's a sign of creative joy.

Yeah, fair play to him for making what he loves. I just didn't feel it on that album. It felt... Disparate and a bit bland.

I read that as "Game of the Year Edition"

Idk if you're being serious or funny, but he's not dead. He didn't like the fame that that song brought and just wanted to make his own sound in his own way, so he just stepped out of the spotlight.

I was being serious. I thought he died before the pandemic. Egg's on my face
