Does anyone know what technology is used to create this flatpak? Is it archon? Or else?

Theyre kind of just black boxing what theyre actually doing. The reason the devs are giving is so it doesnt get blocked by roblox like Grapejuice, Vinegar, and the other one did. I dont entirely trust it myself but I do use it because the alternative is having the overhead of waydroid drop the frames real bad. I dont spend money on the platform so, I have nothing to lose other than my username. They do say that they use the Android libraries of the app in some way but you really just have to take their word on what theyre doing.

Whatever they do it's done prettey well, so that a droid store for Linux is now possible similar to the one deepin Linux has (or had), or like fydeOS/ChromeOS do. I tried uegine runner and spark waydroid runner but those are not very clear packages

It sounds custom but similar to wine, since the website alludes to a compatibility layer (translation) for the Android version of the game. My guess is a completely custom android / java runtime that is built specifically for Roblox and translating the necessary android specific calls to Linux.

That's what I was tthinking of

It's more like a port.

Why not download it and look

I installed but didnt unpack it actually. I was surprised even controllers are recognised. Did you understand what's inside? Since it's closed source I didnt even bother trying to understand that from the flatpack alone

I don't like flatpak and there's no easy download of the actual thing. If you've got a copy or a direct link to one it might be interesting.

They only provide a flatpak.

[–] db2 1 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah. Which there's no direct link to.

yeah thats what I meant to say. Ive had a long day. If you can provide me a reference on extracting the flatpak from my system I wouldnt mind doing it for you though.

https://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/usb-drives.html

Just make a directory somewhere and point the command at it instead of a mount point, it should work.

e: double check you're not including your own personal data, I don't do flatpaks so I'm unclear on whether that'll be a thing.
