Sometimes I tend to feel some type of way during this sort of holiday. So I thought I would give everyone a shout-out. This community doesn't seem particularly active. Not sure if there are bigger ace communities on Lemmy that I'm not aware of.

Happy Holiday!

I associate the holiday more with my mom giving us chocolate than romance or dating fortunately. Told my parents and siblings happy Valentines' day when the date changed. Unfortunately, it also means people don't wanna hang out cause they got plans.

Would be cool if there was a more active community, but I also don't care enough to be the one making that change. I feel like ace communities are probably hard to be active - the primary thing uniting us is a shared disinterest in something. On reddit, most of the content seemed to be basically spamming the same memes everyday (some of which was clearly repost bots), which I think I'd unsubscribe from at this point.

I don't understand your question.

I became a mod for this community when it was the only asexual community and the mod had been absent.

The blahaj ace community showed up one day and I was made a mod (much to my surprise, but 🤷🏻‍♂️).

I want community, just trying to be a decent steward of it. Whether here on .world or over at blahaj.

There is also [email protected] in case that fits, but it's pretty quiet too..

I hope the "some type of way" you feel isn't too bad, or that at least knowing there are more of us out there helps a little. 👋

I generally just ignore all holidays, it's so much easier lol

I don't know which holiday it is, but happy friday to you as well!

If there are other communities, I am not aware of them. I just think that, Lemmy being very small and Aces being a very small percentage of the population, there just aren't enough of us to make an active community.

It's still nice to have one, though.
