Blahaj Lemmy Meta
Blåhaj Lemmy is a Lemmy instance attached to blahaj.zone. This is a group for questions or discussions relevant to either instance.
Hopefully they see this post to add the new domain to the "Do Not Federate" list.
Edit: Wording.
Really hoping they do. This could go very badly if they switch to the new domain and all the servers who defederated them are now suddenly federated again.
It would be good if Lemmy had an option to do it by IP as well, though I guess one already can by using their server's firewall to block all traffic to that IP on the Lemmy server.
It would be pretty trivial to get a new public IP, so blocking by it isn't the best course of action.
Static IPs you have to pay for them though if I'm not mistaken. They can get new ones but it would cost them.
I don't see the benefit of a static IPv4 though, with Dynamic DNS. Just have your router update the entry on getting a new IP (FritzBoxes have that builtin) or let a small program on the server doing that job. I have both.
They have no interest in federating with lemmy.blahaj.zone, I’m pretty sure they have you blacklisted
Well considering this instance does block Hexbear, they probably don't want to leave it up to chance like that. Which is why I'm letting them know.
Lmao why
Hexbear has a very low tolerance of bigotry so they block instances that have a large influx of bigotry. Lemmy.blahaj.zone is generally well moderated but they have a different opinion on what is chaser like behaviour so the trans community on hexbear doesn’t really feel comfortable federating.
I believe the 196 subreddit was a community of vaush fans who is a chaser and a pedo apologist, so it attracted a lot of chasers. That kind of culture is also prevalent in the lemmy 196 communities which makes some trans people uncomfortable.
I think chapo.chat currently isn't federating , and i think i saw that chapo.chat was just a temporary move since it has the same problem of going to expire due to an admin disappearing.
