General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both [email protected] and [email protected] .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

[email protected] appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

Keir is from the right of the party and surrounded himself with the right wing faction, Progress. He turned his back on unions and got money from business. He's pro business and likely paid for. Don't be surprised when he shows pro-business tendencies.

Private healthcare probably do. They're getting more NHS money diverted their way soon

Yes, he's there to guard against competition. Wait, did you misunderstand?

Yep sounds about right. The competition watchdog. Its whole name is about stopping competitors.

Come on has it seemed to do anything else since about the 1990s.

Here's an idea: Wait and see what he actually does in the post rather than screeching about it beforehand.

There is a fox in the chicken coup. It might not be a bad thing. Let's wait and see what happens. Folk always are too quick to jump to conclusions nowadays.

Quite why you get downvotes for this comment eludes me. Whatever, here is one up from me.

It's Lemmy. Anyone who is involved in owning a business is automatically the Devil and can't possibly be a good person and do good things.
