That sure is some bad framing. Nvidia is charging too much to squeeze out the AIBs or they all just want too much profit for their part in this. Either way its not that the MSRP is charity(!) its just high prices.
Absolutely, I'm positive that if it weren't for this "AI" speculative bubble we're seeing right now they'd be selling at a slightly lower cost. They just see an excuse to get as much cash from as many people as they can.
What a terrible article. The margins for board partners is small, but Nvidias margin is huge.
The MSRP that is already 15-45% higher? I'm hoping to get nvidia card, the 3rd party just are too expensive and price gauged for 4 years.
Also, how many of them did some anti consumer bullshit in the past 2 years? Who's left as the good brand now?
AMD or Intel.
They're not good guys, they're just behind.
But my question was for 3rd party. MSI can suck dick, Asus has the whole warranty issue plus inflated prices, gigabyte while my go to, also has the case of downplaying their PSU setting itself on fire... Who is trustworthy in tech now?
And there really isn't an alternative to 5090.I do have stupidly expensive setup with monitor that's stupidly overkill, it's my main hobby and I'm not afraid to throw stupid money at it. I dislike that I have to even state this, I always get one or two of "oh but you could be happy with 8900 XTX!"
They’re not good guys, they’re just behind.
You got that right, but at least they aren't as hostile to the industry as NVIDIA while they are behind.
If you don't mind throwing money at diminishing returns while financially supporting anti-consumer and anti-board partner behavior, there's not much else to say.
EVGA! Oh wait.. :(
